Listen Up!

It's month old news at this point, but after realizing that not everyone constantly searches "Cady Groves" in Google, and therefore not everyone may know about her single Love Actually. MTV blogged and called it the song of their summer (mine too!) here. I can't wait for her album if this is the stuff that's on it. Meanwhile, listen to Real With Me and IDGAF to fall further in love.

Rejoice. There is a new song mash-up out there, and with two wonderful artists, Natalia Kills and Marina and the Diamonds. It's called Radioactive Mirrors, and is, as one may guess, a combo of Mirrors and Radioactive. How cool is it? Whoever made this knew what they were doing! You can't buy it, as far as I know, but as long as you have internet connection, hey. It's there for you.

Songs to Fall in Love With

I'm so sorry to have been gone for so long! As is my tradition, I apologize by featuring three things - songs in this case - for you, instead of two.

I know you love the Veronicas. Ever since Untouched hit the scene four (oh wow...FOUR years ago). In the video they look so alike that it's almost eerie to see them standing next to each other. I certainly was glad by the one black one blonds change in the Hook Me Up video in 2009. Anyways, their new song? It's called Lolita and I love it. Like a lot of music has more recently, it has a stronger electronic sound than they've had before, and while that has an ability to destroy a songs sound, Lolita is made stronger, more powerful, and in the true Veronicas fashion, creepier. Five out of five gold Veronicas are awarded to this song.

I know you saw the picture and judged instantly. I know. But don't! Because even though a lot of his music is similar, and therefore you basically listen to him or you don't, I have finally found a song by Justin Bieber that will appeal to an audience beyond his own. So even if you aren't a Bieber Fan, take a listen to Maria. As you may suspect after hearing the first 30 seconds, it's about Mariah Yeater. It is really easy to start singing along quickly, and the beat is very catchy. If you really like it, listen She Don't Like The Lights, a song that sounds very similar, but Maria is still overall his best song. By a long shot.

I know all you UK fans know about Xenomania producing You Bring Me Joy, Amelia Lily's next song. But to everyone else who hasn't heard it yet, it is pure Amelia Lily, with all of her talent and attitude. I'm really excited for her album if this is a sample of what is to come!

P.S I guess this is part number four, but I literally just found out that the beloved Janet Devlin is confirmed to be recording her debut album! Details here! Are you guys excited?

New Songs

Isn't she gorgeous? Her voice in Never The Right Time (Who Do You Love) matches the exterior. Cleo Sol's single is coming out July 23rd, which is so soon, but now is so far away, with this to look forward to! I don't know much else about her, but she has talent!

You should download Bebe Black's EP from her website, if only to have three extra songs. But in truth, they are more than three extra songs. Unfortunately, only I'll Wait is online, but it costs nothing and has no required credit card in order to download the songs onto your computer. If you don't like I'll Wait, you most likely won't like the other songs, but they are all very sweet.

Music to get excited about

Although many of you probably already know, I just want to get you excited again by reminding you that Take That is coming out with a seventh album! Yeah, it'll be out in 2013, but it is Take That, so it should be in the back of our minds at every moment. To anyone who hasn't heard their music in a while or ever, I recommend the worthy hit Kidz. It is truly amazing.

Carrie Underwood fans rejoice! I don't know about you guys, but before recently, I had never heard of Brokedown Cadillac. To those who watch the television show Hellcats, the title song? By Brokedown Cadillac. This group is pure country-pop, Just like Ms. Underwood. My personal favorites are Can You Hear Me and Bring It On.

Ark Music Factory - have they succeeded?

I don't know if my beloved international readers have Ark in your countries, but I'm sure you all know what it is - probably thanks to Rebecca Black. A lot of people now associate Ark with bad pop music, as I did. But I decided to plunge into Ark waters (I know, going all investigative reporter here) and see if there were any diamonds in the rough.

Abby Victor - The song Ark released for her was a terrific failure, to cut straight to the point. I really feel the song is on the same level as Friday. In case you're curious, it's called Crush On You. I can't say I like Storybook any better. Sorry, this one's a miss.

Devin Fox - I really enjoy the Brocks's Dub, (here) but that's it. Hooked On You.

Alana Lee - For the first 30 seconds, I wasn't a fan, but I really love the chorus. It has had a really positive reaction, so hey - that's something, right? I don't like her electronic edits though, she would sound better without those. Butterflies is worth a listen.

Kaya - Got one! While she isn't a diamond for the music world as a whole, she is a diamond for Ark, and a find as a whole. Can't Get You Out Of My Mind is pretty good, but if you want to hear hear without autotune (she's good) then go to her channel here.

Kellie Luvella - I'd have to give a thumbs up (on Ark rating). First let me say, I'm pretty sure no label uses "boy" as a lyric as much as Ark does. In the beginning of the song she has an awkward electronic blip, and she looks unnervingly like Ke$ha, but it goes uphill from there. The chorus to Down isn't catchy enough to sing, but enough to bounce in your seat in the car to. You can hear the autotune and that she sings off tune without it, but with musical accompaniment she isn't bad.

Madison Bray - The first few words, besides being autotuned enough to sound like a robot, are "I know you think I'm just a young girl singing". That is exactly what she sounds like in Girl Swag.

Lexi St. George - Diamond found! As the comments report, Dancing to the Rhythm is easily the best song Ark has made. For the first few seconds her mildly nasally voice bothered me, but the song gets better! This is a real diamond here!

Ellie Soufi - The awful thing is that, I feel like if the label and the tune was different Hysterical could be a good song. But it was written by the same guy who wrote Friday, so...

J'Rose - I suppose the idea is lovely. But a video sung by an adorable 8-year-old seems weird and ineffective and frankly, failed. Mean Kids.

Britt Rutter - Why is she singing about shopping when her boyfriend is cheating on her? Without Your Love

Ariana Dvornik - I love her name. But besides that, this is good enough to be charted, in my humble opinion. A true diamond. Fly Away.

Hush - I like their song! The thing is, it isn't perfect, and is a bit uncoordinated, but Hypnotize Me is a good song! Except for the random guy rapping...

Diamonds - Alana Lee, Kaya, Lexi St. George, Ariana Dvornik, and Hush. Looks like Ark passes after all!

Great Videos

I don't usually post about music videos, but there are two big ones that I want to make you guys aware of.

First is Giulietta, with her video Pretty in Pink. Somehow, the song is just way better with the video - especially if you're new to Giulietta. For some unknown reason, she has tied up her boyfriend, put him in the trunk, and then abandoned him! The video is really fun to watch, and I recommend you watch the whole thing.

I'm sure all of you know of my adoration for Colette Carr, despite the fact that she does more rap than I like. So when her video for Like I Got A Gun came out, I was one of the first hundred to see it. Before you watch it, beware! It is very Colette. :)
